  DAY 5 of NAVARATRI :- Skandamata Devi is the fifth aspect of the Hindu goddess Durga and is the fifth Navadurga . Her name Skandamata indicates  Skanda means Lord Kartikeya   Mata means mother Hence Skandamata means mother of Lord Kartikeya.  This means that Maa Skandamata is the mother form of Goddess Durga and she is very kind and caring. Maa Skandamata is worshipped as the mother of supremely talented child called Kartikeya . When a devotee workship Maa Skandamata then automatically Lord Kartikeya is worshipped as he is sitting on his mother's lap. Her worshipped leads to peace, power, prosperity  and salvation. She is regularly known as "The Goddess of Fire" . Goddess Kushmanda has four arms.
