DAY 9 of NAVARATRI :- Siddhidhatri Devi

  DAY 9 of NAVRATRI :-  Siddhidhatri Devi is the ninth aspect of the Hindu goddess Durga and ninth Navadurga . Her name Siddhidgatri means  " Siddhi " means supernatural power or meditative ability " Dhatri " means giver or awarder. One side of Lord Shiva's body is of Goddess Siddhidhatri . Hence he is also known as Ardhanarishwar . It is said that Lord Shiva attained all the siddhis by worshiping her. Goddess Siddhidhatri is the Moola Roopa (original form) of Maa Parvati . She possesses eight supernatural powers or siddhis called Anima, Mahima, Garima, Laghima, Prapti, Prakambya, Ishitva and Vashitva . She is the possessor of 26 different siddhis which she grants her devotees all sorts of achievement, perfections and power. She removes all ignorance and provides knowledge to her devotees.   DAY 8 of NAVRATRI :-  Mahagauri Devi is the eighth aspect of the Hindu goddess Durga and is the eighth Navadurga . It falls on the MahaAshtami Tithi which is celebrated as Durgashtami . She has the power to fulfill all the desires of her devotees and get relief from all their sufferings in life. The name " Mahagauri " means extremely white, as she is very fair, very white in colour and very beautiful. Actually there are two stories associated with Mahagauri .  Parvati made up her mind to perform a penance on advice of Sage Narada Muni so that she gets Lord Shiva as her husband. Hence she left the comfort of her palace and started living in the forest performing penance for many years braved heat, cold, rains, drought and terrible storms.   DAY 7 of NAVRATRI :-  Kalaratri Devi is the seventh aspect of the Hindu Goddess Durga and is the seventh Navadurga . Kalaratri Devi  is considered as one of the most destructive form of Maa Durga . She is believed to be the destroyer of all demons, ghosts, evil spirits and negative energies. She is also known as Shubhamkari, Kali, Bhadrakali and Mahakali which means auspicious or doing good in Sanskrit. She is believed to shower auspicious results to her devotees making them fearless. It so happened that two demons named Shumbha and Nishumbha attacked the Devas . When the Devas couldn't resist anymore they along with Indra went to Kailash to seek help from Lord Shiva .   DAY 6 of NAVARATRI :- Katyayani Devi is the most sixth aspect of the Hindu goddess Durga and is the sixth Navadurga. One of the most worshipped form of Maa Durga , she is considered the slayer of evil Mahishasura . The Katyayani form of Maa Durga is considered very special for unmarried girls, married women and students in the field of education. It is believed that the Katyayani form was worshipped by Sita , Radha and Rukmini for a good husband. It was that time when the demon Mahishasura was creating a lot of havoc for the Devas.   DAY 5 of NAVARATRI :- Skandamata Devi is the fifth aspect of the Hindu goddess Durga and is the fifth Navadurga . Her name Skandamata indicates  Skanda means Lord Kartikeya   Mata means mother Hence Skandamata means mother of Lord Kartikeya.  This means that Maa Skandamata is the mother form of Goddess Durga and she is very kind and caring. Maa Skandamata is worshipped as the mother of supremely talented child called Kartikeya . When a devotee workship Maa Skandamata then automatically Lord Kartikeya is worshipped as he is sitting on his mother's lap. Her worshipped leads to peace, power, prosperity  and salvation.   DAY 4 of NAVARATRI :- Kushmanda Devi is the fourth aspect of the Hindu goddess Durga and is the fourth Navadurga. Kushmanda name indicates her main role which is  Ku means a little Ushma means warmth/energy Anda means cosmic egg. Hence goddess Kushmanda created the world with her divine smile. According to Durga Saptashati , Goddess Kushmanda is the one who controls the functioning of the solar system. The core of the Sun is believed to be the residence of the goddess. She is the one who provides the energy to the Sun to shine and emit light.   DAY 3 of NAVARATRI 2021:- Chandraghanta   Devi is the third aspect of the Hindu goddess Durga and is the third Navadurga . Chandraghanta means one who has half-moon shaped like a bell. She is also known as Chandrakhanda , Chandika or Rannchandi . According to Shiva Maha Purana Chandraghanta is the SHAKTI of Lord Shiva in the form of Chandrashekhara .  Each aspect of Shiva is accompanied by Shakti and hence they are known as Ardhanarishvara (depicted as half-male and half-female i.e., composite form of Shiva and Parvati ). Parvati in the form of goddess Chandraghanta has ten hands where two hands hold a Trishul (Trident), Gada (Mace), Bow-Arrow , Khadak (Sword), Kamala (Lotus flower), Ghanta (Bell), and Kamandal (Warterpot) while one of her hands remain in blessing posture or abhayamudra .   DAY 2 of NAVARATRI  2021 :-  Brahmacharini Devi is the second aspect of the Hindu goddess Durga and is the second Navadurga . Brahmacharini means a devoted female student who lives in an Ashrama with her Guru along with the other students. In Vedic scriptures the word " Brahmacharini " means a female who peruses the scared religious knowledge. According to the different versions of the scriptures Parvati resolves to marry Shiva .  It is said that Parvati did tapasya for about 5000 years in order to be Shiva's consort. During this time the Gods approached God Kamadeva - the Hindu God of desire, erotic love, attraction and affection and ask him to generate desire in Shiva for Parvati .  DAY 1 of  NAVARATRI 2021  :-  Maa   Shailaputri DAY 1 of NAVARATRI 2021 :- Maa Shailaputri is a manifestation of the Hindu goddess Durga and is one of the first Navadurga . In her previous birth, the Goddess was born to king Daksha and Prasuti . In this form, her name was Sati , and was very much devoted to Shiva and in love with him. King Daksha was against this love but his wife Prasuti arranged Shiva and Sati's marriage. After the marriage Rati leaved happily with Shiva in Kailash . Meanwhile king Daksha arranged a huge fire-sacfrice ( Yagna ) where everyone was invited except Shiva-Sati . Even though Shiva advised not to go but Sati out of parental bond made Sati ignore social etiquette. She went to the Yagna alone. On reaching there, king Daksha started insulting Shiva to that extend that made Sati realised her mistake of coming to the Yagna .
