Chitragupta, Lord Chitragupta, Hindu God Chitragupta, Bhagwan Chitragupta

Chitragupta, Lord Chitragupta, Hindu God Chitragupta, Bhagwan Chitragupta

Chitragupta is the one who has to keep all records of our actions and report to Yama at the time of our death. Chitragupta is the son of Brahma.

We have to understand all stories in ancient Indian works in metaphysical terms. Chitragupta is a most beautiful allegory.  The word can be translated as Secret Images.  Where are the images drawn and why is it a secret?

Whenever we sense something or whatever we thing, say or do is recorded within us.  It can be in our conscious for some time, later it could go into our subconscious. These recordings are stored within us and it is these recordings that is called Chitra.

It is secret or Gupta because it is done by something (call it subconscious if you insist) within us without our conscious knowledge.

It is said that Chitra Gupta reports these records to Yama.  What this means is that at the time of death, it is time to access these records and play it back.

We have read of the “near-death experiences” of people who have emphatically said that when they experience “near-death”, all the past events of their life flashed before them as a sort of replay of some recording.  Where did these flash of memories come from ?  And why only at a “near-death” experience ?  Why were these people not able to access these memories when they were alive and kicking ?

It is these recordings within us of all our thoughts, words and actions that will be played back to us during the time of death that is explained beautifully in the allegory of Chitra Gupta keeping a record and reporting to Yama.

Who is Chitragupta? In details.

1. Chitra refers to picture literally. meaning a memory - image stored in subconscious mind.

gupta refers to secretly kept or kept in the inner most areas of subconscious.

We do various things and all our activities are stored in our own subconscious in the form of habit patterns or what are known as vasanas. these are our inherent tendencies. these are like seeds out of which our next activities and consequent results follow.

There is this story of a person who was given a parrot by his teacher and the teacher told him to kill it when no one is watching. and finally this guy returns without killing because at any place there is atleast one person watching - he himself. so we see every minor activity or thought we get involved in —- consciously or subconsciously . and so all those impressions we hold in our subconscious. we may hide them from others but they remain in our own inner most mind. and so, these “seeds” eventually cause us to do something else whose consequence is what we call karma.

Chitragupta is also Yama’s assistant , Yama refers to time. that time ensures we get all the results. meaning … in time, the seeds we sow in the subconscious will germinate.

2. Lord Chitragupt is a patron God(कुल देवताः) for Kayasth Community of Indian Subcontinent.

As the mythology goes He was created after the request of Lord Yama(The god of Death) to Lord Brahma as Lord Yama requires an assistance in dealing with the souls to judge according to their deeds.

In return Lord Chitragupt appeared from the navel of Lord Brahma exactly like he appeared from the navel of Lord Vishnu.

It is said that From the head of Lord Brahma Brahmin was Born, From Arms Kshatriya, From Thighs Vaishya and from Feet Shudras but Kayastha or Chitragupt Emerged as a whole From the Head and toe of Lord Brahma that's why he was called Kayastha (Kaya as in self Image and astha as in as it is).

In conclusion, Chitragupt is the only avatar of Lord Braham Himself or Lord Brahma 2.0.
3. ChitraGupta is a Sanskrit word…
Chitra means “artwork”, Gupta means “Secret”
Ur body and creation r pulsating Chitra Gupta.., u have no clue, what create it..
Ur body (chitra) carries secret (Gupta) records of ur karmas and fructify it gradually..
Its not any God, though its believed as God by ignorants..

4. Chitragupta is narrating and maintaining authority of Yama. Laws of yama and stories regarding not following with results of it. Comparing it to better life.

It is not yama said brother of shani. It is chitragupta. Parthiv pujanam not allowed for this lord.

Shani is Graha not lord. Yama is not lord it us yogaabhyaas sutra.

5. Chitragupta is the chief assistant to lord Yamaraj who keeps record of each and everyone's karmas or actions so that the person can be acquitted or condemned. He is also the chief deity of the Kayasthas and his worship is considered highly auspicious.

Meaning"Solah Shringar" is made of two hindi words: 'Solah' and 'Shringar'. The word 'Solah' means 'sixteen' and the meaning of 'Shringar' is 'Adornments.  'Solah Shringar' corresponds to the 16 phases of the moon which are linked to a woman's menstrual cycle. This has a negative effect on a woman's physical and mental wellness. Our ancient sages believed that these effects could be nullified by wearing the 16 items of cosmetic and jewelry. . .
